Refuge House does provide private adoptions. By private adoption, we mean children are presented through private avenues and not through the state. Private adoptions fall into two categories- closed and semi-open.
Closed: All information is kept confidential and there is no contact between families.
Semi Open: Semi Open Adoption allows for minimal contact with the birth parents. This contact is usually in the form of cards, letters and/or pictures and does not usually involve ongoing face-to-face contact. The purpose of this type of adoption is to maintain contact while maintaining physical/emotional boundaries.
