This program was designed to bring relief to foster families. At times, every parent needs a break. However, with foster children there are state standards that limit where they may be or by whom they may be supervised. Refuge House created this program for those who want to help care for our children, but can’t make a commitment to being a full time foster parent. Becoming a mini-break provider allows a family or individual to keep a foster child for up to 48 hours, offering the foster parents a short break.
